Start planning now for this years Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes:
Dates: Friday 23 July to Friday 30 July 2010
The Pre-Pilgrimage Mass of 4th July 2010 at the University Chaplaincy will now be held on Sunday 27th June 2010 at 2.30pm
The Lancaster Diocesan Annual Pilgrimage to Lourdes takes place every year, generally the last week in July. Usually about 600 pilgrims in total travel by air and across land to come together as a Diocesan Family – consisting of priests, deacons, sick pilgrims, doctors, nurses, carers, young people and pilgrims from all over the Diocese. No other Diocesan event brings so many people together each year than that of the Devotion to our Blessed Lady.
We need YOU to come along in any capacity whether it be as a priest, a sick pilgrim, a nurse, a carer, a young person or if you simply want to come and join the Diocese in their annual pilgrimage contact us today.
Organise a car boot sale, a raffle, tombola, or a barbecue event in your parish – you will be surprised how much support you get. Ask your priest to support you in bringing to others the love, peace and healing experienced by many who come every year to Lourdes. If you want to come but need some support there may be some help available – every case is looked at individually. Contact Pilgrimage Director, Cath Morgan (details below) or Mancunia for more information.
If you cannot come yourself please consider fundraising in your parish to support a sick person to go next year. This may be their only opportunity of getting a week away knowing that they will feel safe and be looked after by a team of excellent nurses and carers.
Here we have a video show of aspects of last year's Pilgrimage:
