Significant numbers of people from Diocese of Lancaster are looking forward to attending one of the Papal Events during the coming UK visit of Pope Benedict in September.
Parishioners & clergy from the Carlisle and West Cumbria Deaneries are going to the Papal Mass at Bellahouston Park, Glasgow.
Others from the rest of the Diocese are going to the Mass of Beatification of Cardinal Newman at Cofton Park, Birmingham, and some are going to the Hyde Park Vigil.
Those parishes that arranged coaches for Hyde Park and Deaneries for Cofton Park have had to appoint a Pilgrim Leader, who has had to put together lists of all those going and keep those lists for security checkpoints at the entrance to the Papal Events.
Our Director of Youth Services has arranged for young people from across the diocese to go to the Prayer Vigil at Hyde Park.
The official national website thepapalvisit.org.uk is the best place to find out the most up-to-date information in the build up to the special time in the life of the Church in our countries.
