Merged Parishes

Effective from 19 April (Low Sunday) 2009 the following parishes were merged by Decree of Bishop Patrick O’Donoghue

(The names /dedications of individual churches remain – but the new names of the following parishes take effect):

Ø  St Peter’s Cathedral, Lancaster & St Thomas More, Lancaster - St Peter’s Cathedral & St Thomas More Parish, Lancaster

Ø  Ss Thomas & Elizabeth, Thurnham & St Joseph, Galgate (Re-merge), - retain name

Ø  St Mary, Morecambe & Good Shepherd Torrisholme - The Good Shepherd & St Mary Parish, Morecambe

Ø  St Patrick Morecambe & Holy Family, Morecambe – St Patrick & Holy Family Parish, Morecambe

Ø  St William, Pilling & St Bernard, Knott End - St William & St Bernard Parish, Over Wyre

Ø  St John Vianney, Blackpool & St Monica, Blackpool - St John Vianney & St Monica Parish, Blackpool

Ø  Our Lady & St Bernard, Preston and Ss Peter & Paul, Preston- St Edmund Campion Parish, Preston

Ø  Christ the King, Milnthorpe & Our Lady of Lourdes, Arnside – The Catholic Parish of Milnthorpe & Arnside

Ø  St Joseph, Preston & St Teresa, Preston – St Joseph & St Teresa, Preston
