This past weekend has brought sadness to the British Jewish community with the death of former Chief Rabbi, Lord Jonathan Sacks. He was very much respected in his role as Faith Leader of the United Hebrew Congregations of the Commonwealth, and contributed more broadly to the life of the nation in such ways as ‘Thought for the Day’ on Radio 4. May he find now the face of God and enjoy peace in His presence for ever. I pray that his family and all who mourn will find comfort and hope through reflecting on his life of faithful service.
