Priestly Ordination of Dn Stephen Talbutt

Congratulations to the newly ordained priest Fr Stephen Talbutt.

“Christ has made me his own forever. He has chosen me to be a blessing.”

Prayerful wishes on behalf of the whole diocese to the new priest of Jesus Christ, set apart to serve God and his faithful. We are extremely grateful to the Almighty God for this gift of vocation that will bring Christ’s love, mercy and hope to the world.

Fr Stephen was ordained on 6th of July 2019, on the feast of St Maria Goretti at St Peter’s Cathedral, Lancaster. The Ordination Rite and prayers of imposition was presided by Rt Rev Bishop Paul Swarbrick, Bishop of Lancaster.

Bishop Swarbrick announced at the end of the Ordination Mass that Fr Stephen has been appointed as Assistant Priest at Christ the King and St Kentigern’s Church, Blackpool. Fr Stephen spent his formation years at St Mary’s Oscott College, Birmingham. An ordination is always a moment of great joy as every priest is a gift of God to his people. We wish Fr Stephen a long and fruitful priestly ministry. Ad Multos Annos!
