Pupils of Catholic schools in the north of England Invited to enter a Public Speaking Contest

The Annual Catenian Public Speaking Contest takes place on Sunday 3rd April 2022 at Trinity Catholic College, Lacy Road, Middlesbrough, TS4 3JW. Opening at 1.00 p.m. for refreshments and a Briefing Meeting for the contestants, the first speaker starts at 2.00 p.m. with the event concluding around 4.30 p.m..

Catholic High Schools and Academies in the Dioceses of Lancaster, Hexham and Newcastle and Middlesbrough have already been invited to register, by 11th February, their intention to put forward contestants in the Key Stage 3, Key Stage Four and Post sixteen age categories.

Additionally, for the first time, Year Six pupils will be able to partake through their respective Trusts, with each Trust invited to forward their chosen contestant.

This event is organised and sponsored by Province 5 of The Catenian Association and the winner of the Post 16 contest will be invited to take part in the National Contest at the Manchester Conference Centre later in the year.
